Yifu Liu is a research-based designer investigating how artificial intelligence can support embodied skill, material engagement, and creative learning. Whether developing conversational AI for textile repair, supervising student robotics projects, or hosting a podcast on creativity across disciplines, the practice applies the same rigorous attention to context, making, and detail. A serial entrepreneur, he co-founded Tact Monster Ltd — a robotics startup developing the world's first contact-driven basketball robot trainer, backed by InnovationRCA — and has launched several ventures at the intersection of design and engineering. Based in London. Final-year PhD at UCL Interaction Centre.
The work embraces a broad spectrum of typologies and methods, from product design through embodied interaction research, robotic prototyping, design pedagogy, and cultural commentary. Across all outputs, the portfolio is characterised by a coherent interest in the body's intelligence and meticulously researched outcomes.
